The vessel came first on this one. Its deep-ribbed, low-shouldered shape is drawn from Rouge Vif d'Étampes — the French heirloom pumpkin the fairy tale borrowed for Cinderella's carriage — rendered here in matte ivory stoneware with a burnished gold ceramic lid. Timeless rather than seasonal.

Care
Trim the wick to ¼" before each lighting. On the first burn, let the wax pool reach the edge of the vessel — it takes an hour or two and prevents tunneling for the life of the candle. Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep away from drafts, children, and pets, and stop burning when ½" of wax remains.
When it's finished, warm water and a little dish soap lifts the last of the wax out. The vessel is yours to keep.
